A precision-machined internal drive shaft for 60-inch PTO-driven implement configurations, proportionally longer and heavier at 11.3 lbs than the 48-inch variant. The additional shaft length increases susceptibility to torsional deflection under peak loads — inspect carefully for twisting or surface cracking if the implement has been stalled by an obstacle. When installing a replacement, verify gearbox output coupling alignment; a misaligned coupling introduces bending loads to the shaft that accelerate bearing wear at both ends.
